So you found the watering hole, pull up a seat.... the UJOR Kool Aid is wonderful.

Your life will never be the same.

It goes both ways but yes, the majority do suspension 1st. It is better to do the suspension after the interior so we can dial in the spring rates with the actual weight.

2nd on this. I have replaced the front and rear springs since I have finished the interior, and I am still a bit behind on rear springs. If you can wait, it is better, but I couldn't wait - Part of my problem in general, actually

Hey Chris,

Compliments to you and the kit you've developed. I just drove a Ujoint van (RB with 6" lift on 35" BFGs) over 200 miles in one shot. It drove great and the ride was surprisingly plush for an empty van with that much lift.
.
One of the biggest complaints I have about my Quadvan is that it likes to wander and the steering is a little lazy...despite what Quadvan says, it really could use a tad more positive caster. Your kit is dialed-in in comparison. The steering was crisp and steady and handled the terrible highway ruts between Seattle and Portland with much less effort than my van.
.
Nice work man! :smiley_drive:

Thanks very much! I respect your opinion so this is a good way to start the week!

I finally got to check out the ride of a Ujoint kit around town and was pleased with the result. It has to be the best riding leaf sprung front suspension I have experienced. This was Claude-Alain's "Swiss Van" which is a beast of a van and very nice - In and out. We did revalve his rear Bilstein shocks to add more rebound damping and he reports that it is an improvement give how tall and heavy his van is. Claude stayed with us a few days to sort out and repair various items after more than a month of abuse in Baja - next he is headed north. What an adventure he is having!

Hey Baja, That's very cool to see you posting positive and constructive comment about a competitor. Too often people tend to bash other brands and all but your attitude says a lot and you got my respect :)

I'm getting Chris kit once I'm further ahead in my build but wouldn't hesitate to stop by your shop with my Ambo for some fine-tuning... Good to have you all aboard!

Cheers
Mr. D

Thanks, we'll take the "best leaf sprung" crown and run with it :)

We miss having Claude around the shop! Great guy in many many ways and I wish I was on his journey!

Holy cow! More info (and pics!) about this van, PLEASE!

What's in store for the interior? Can you post some shots of the inside? What's the stand-up height?

I'l post pics as we finish it up, the roof isn't cut yet. The interior will be all function for traveling to BMX races. Sienna seats, sleeping platform, fridge, DVD monitors, lots of storage for gear.

92-3 model year?????

I know your kits are for the 93 and newer vans can you please clarify if the 92's with the newer style body fit into that category as well? I am aggressively hunting an Airstream 190 and there Happens to be a 92 with the newer body style just outside of Ashville which just so happens to be in your neck of the woods. Thanks for the help, and putting a strain on my wallet :)

Our kits fit 92 to current. I think that I just had a conversation about that exact B190.... !!!!

Good to know, waiting to hear back from them. Good thing is there seems to be a few floating around. They are elusive though :Wow1:
