Default Big Spring Sale at REI

Those of you who are members likely already know this, but REI's big spring sale started today. I've been shopping for a family-sized tent to replace the 2-man dome tent my wife had been sharing (don't think the 4 of us were going to fit in that one). I picked up up a North Face Trailhead 6 for $279, which is $120 off list, and far cheaper than anyplace else I found online.

One word of caution, it may be because today was the first day, but I couldn't find parking, and the lines were crazy long (though they had lots of registers opened and kept it moving).

If you're not a member, some of the deals they have going on probably make the $15 membership fee worthwhile. And while you're there, you can climb the rock-wall!

I'll put up a review of the tent after we've had a chance to "exercise" it.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been needing to get a new tent. I think I may go with the REI base camp 6 though.

I got my flyer early this week and was patiently waiting for Friday to come. I just got back from there, I bought a nifty Petzel head lamp and some Keen shoes. I am thinking about going back tomorrow and getting a Osprey day pack for day hicking/fishing use. I love me some REI.
