    Default thermette or Kelly Kettle

Anyone using one of these? Copper, tin or aluminum? I'm thinking of making one and am wich material would be best. Real world, how long does it take to boil water? I met a guy on an the Mulchatna in Alaska that swore by his. He was from Africa.

I've used the KK extensively, but I bet the thermette would be just as good. It really is an excellent device, and fun to use. Real world can boil water in 3 to 5 minutes.

    cheers

I even wondered it you took a "JETBOIL" modified it with the same principal of a cone going up throught the center, if you could decrease the boiling time dramatically. You would leave the heat fins on it and put the cone up inside of that. Just a thought. We float a remote river in Alaska every two years and am always trying to come up with ways to not carry as wt. in fuel or supplies.
