I plan to have a safety cable that connects the tongue to the other side of the coupler in addition to the standard X safety chains to the bumper.

Debating about just throwing a tack weld on the nuts also to prevent them from ever coming lose.

Maybe tack weld a big washer on the threaded end but in the center of the washer so you can disassemble and re-assemble without too much hassle?

So I have an event in two weeks and need to be able to use the trailer to sleep in, so time to double time it. Today I went and bought a bunh of plywood and 1x2 ribs.

Looks like I get to put my welders down and pick up my wood working tools.

I also got 21 x 14 windows.

To save time building I threw the side profile into cad, It features a pop up roof like the VW vanagons as shown with the strait line under the roof line.

Looks like great progress... I'll be interested to see this come together and especially how you seal the top. I've been thinking about something along these lines too.

I plan to use a rubber gasket from a camper top.

The top opening is going to be framed out with steel tubing for strength, and to make it a better seal.

As you can probably tell already it is not a normal tear drop with kitchen out back, I plan to have a small counter / sink area inside and a spot for the fridge. The battery box will go over the tongue.

I am thinking about making the bed up 8" from the floor and making storage under it. This will fold into a seating area for day time use.

Good for you Man!!...keep going!!!

Coming together quickly...:victory:

Good Luck, Pat

Thanks,

I am motivated since I have a 4 day event next Thursday - Sunday and want it done for that. I also need to build my Jeep a new front and rear bumper, sliders, and roof rack & tire carrier. I got a lot planed this next week is all I can say.

I hope to get the roof cut off and the sheet installed, the windows cut and the rest of the internal framing done tomorrow. I want to insulate the walls and put a thin layer of wood on the inside to make it finished.

Luckily I work for myself, so after I get each days orders ready for UPS I am devoted to my side projects.

I am having trouble deciding if the window should go where i traced it, I plan to put a pantry box on that side that the door folds into a table. On the driver side I plan to put a storage box.

The tongue will have a small box for two batteries and propane later on.

Any thoughts on pantry box and window placement?
