I just purchased a 2011 Tiguan SE 4Motion. I barely have 100 miles on it. I know it has potential for light duty off roading but not beyond that. This is my forth VW.

I would love to put the motor from a diesel rabbit into a baja!

The ol' daily driver VW GTI serves double duty in the absence of the Chalet and any other expo-vehicle.... (ground clearance still a bit of a problem in that capacity, though)

They are hard to come by yes. 80 is the first year and its the only year without front corner light as part of the grille, which i think looks the best.Thats why i traded for it. It is also an lx which means special cloth/leahter intetior and a/c. It needs alot of work but itl be worth it

I have a 68 bug project that I plan to do in the next year or two. It will be a all metal baja with mid travel coil over suspension. The body should remain mostly stock similar to a class 11 build but the fenders will need to be trimmed for tire clearance.

One more Touareg here, a 2006 V8. 255/55/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers, Adams Rotors/Posi-Quiet Pads, also installed an OEM hitch. LOVE taking this thing off-road and towing with it is a dream. I'll be purchasing a 19ft Toy Hauler and a Quad to go inside later this year so we can have some fun when we travel. Bought it last February with 46k miles on it, and just rolled over 77k earlier this week. Still trying to find better places to take it here in SE Texas or anywhere in Texas for that matter. And I do wish there was some aftermarket for it, like Anand said it is pretty non-existent unfortunately. An aftermarket front/rear locker would be a nice addition to the factory locking center.

Nearby overpass :P It's A LOT steeper then it looks in the picture.

We are down to three VWs. A 66 sedan, a 70 vert and a 78 bus.

This is at the Davis Mine in Nevada's Paradise Range SE of Gabbs.

    At the Cottontail Mine.

Alas, the shoe tree on 50 is no more. Damn the Vandals
