When I got my truck, it had 315s on it with ~4.5" National leafs on the front. I took those off and replaced them with a 3" Donahoe Racing (now Icon) leveling kit with stock springs and went with 285s. My mileage decreased (yes, the speedo was cal'd correctly for each tire size) when I went to the 285s. I attribute it to ~200 rpm higher engine speed at highway speeds.

Greggk, yeah the factory block has a 1" block on top.

It was like that from the previous owner. I have contemplated removing it, but have not gotten around to it.

No ill effects....

Yeah i want to level my dually and run 35's front and rear :wings:

I know it will hurt my arround town and towing mpg a lil, but unloaded highway it should help because of the bigger diameter.

Here's a picture of mine. Shes a 99 leveled with 285/75's on the stock rims. I really like the stance. I still get 18mpg on the freeway cruising around 67mph. 15mpg around town.

When I get another set of tires, I might go 305/75's, but am not sure. I would expect that the mpgs would drop slightly again. You can fit 35's with the leveling kit no problem, just depends on what you want. More pictures can be found on the link in my sig.

I am running 285/75/R16 Toyo M55s right now. Getting 19 MPG highway. Will probably go to 255/85/R16 M55s and see if this bumps my mileage a bit. The F350 is 'leveled'.
