The state senator sponsoring this lives in Saddlebrooke. Wasn't their an issue with Saddlebrooke wanting to close access to the west end of the road accessing Charouleau Gap?

Yes. Many of the homeowners up there want the trail closed. Apparently they don't like seeing anyone having fun.

UT passed a law last year that allows the state to take federal land under eminent domain. With oil skyrocketing, I am willing to bet the first use of the law will be to re-open the oil fields to drilling.
