Would be fun to do some of the stuff I have seen over in Japan such as cooking going on things for the kids small prizes etc... and have some special edition things available etc...

That is a great set up. Does the Partner Steel stove fit perfectly as a two space IGT insert? I can't tell from your pictures.

    Thanks,

Edit: sorry, thought you were talking about the GS220, but this is a different stove

Here is my stove in the 4 unit IGT with the BBQ box and stainless inserts.

its a 1.5 inch smaller than a two space since one space is about 9.75 inches the Partner steel is 18 inches so their is a small gap on each side. Not a big deal
if you look at that top pic again the space you see is in a 4 space IGT and the two items on the right are pushed all the way over !
so that space to the left of the PS stove is about 1 inch and the space to the right is about 1/2 inch not to bad at all !

I bet they would make one custom but to me the small gap is not a big deal
    hope that helps

I have the same issue with my charcoal box lid ? no where to put it ! working on two ideas to have a place to put it !
here the ground is gnarly dusty dirt not nice grass and we have a dog !!!! same reason I cant hang tongs with her loose !

one of the ideas came from this pic
if you notice he extended the bar down and made a place to put the stainless lids he made ! which is the one idea I like quite a bit !
the other was a shelf below where I can put lids or whatever I want

the guy has made some cool stuff for SP fans though ! love the idea of the baskets he made that fit into the IGT then you can put a board above them etc..

I wonder if Partner Steel would make a custom "perfect fit" (i.e. 2 unit) stove for the IGT at a price similar to their other units--one with a lid that could be detached for the IGT and attached when used separately. If they would, would anyone here be interested? ...and if so, could we get together enough people for a group deal? Would there be any special features that people would suggest in order to make this the ideal set-up?

I wondered about that custom fit unit also

here is a brain dump from me and what I was thinking when I was going to do this since I did my magma I had planned on this PS meets SP method !

the handle and latch would have just fit with the stock depth of the unit but again I figured they would just get in the way ! so it might have to be more like my custom order with no latches and no handle !

I had thought of asking them to make me one exactly 19.5 inches long but decided the stock 18 was OK with me and did not mind the extra space ! my reasoning with how hot the charcoal box gets I figure that extra inch space will keep the stove from getting so hot if I am not using it but using the charcoal box only !
now this came after talking to PS about my main use which was with a griddle he said you have to be careful and not cover up the top so much that the area near the knobs get hot as to damage the O rings ? now I dont think the unit touching the Charcoal box would matter ? but did not want to chance that !
I had thought of using a filler on each side of mine and I still might do that ? granted their will be a small gap at the corner of mine ? but again I am OK with that !
and I bought the L channel I needed to make my edge fill in so most likely you will see pics of that in the next week or less !

he did say he could make me one with the gas tube coming off the bottom ! which would be nice so you could put the charcoal box on either side ? but for sure you are never going to use it on a table and want that double duty when I asked about the front like the small hinged model he said cant do cause of something the way they do the front of them and the knob shielding compared to the small folding ? but I bet they could with enough units the back would be perfect but he said not really doable the way they run the tube also on the bottom it would stick down about 1/8 a inch or so !

I think the Lid/windscreen would be the tricky issue ? and since a plain lid is cheaper and I would never use it I opted for the plain lid !
at least for me cant see using it without my IGT ? so for me it would be a lost feature I would not want to pay more for
my method I left enough lip for the top to grab lid and just use a strap like the charcoal box !
I think having a lid windscreen you could also use on the IGT would be OK but I am just going to use the SP windscreen and am totally happy with the lid the way it is ? but again I can see some wanting it

the 12 inch depth is about perfect ! if the L channel was welded on or just a channel of some kind you could go up to 12.75 inches and still drop it in as long as nothing like hinges on the front or back of it !
and I had thought of welding it on but if it got bent I like the idea of being able to replace it ? but then again I think welded on wont ever be a issue and would be nice and clean !
also did not want it to be more than 1/8th tall cause I want the ability to drop my cutting board in and have it grab the front and back ! something to think about if ya like that cutting board top idea ? I hate cutting boards that slide around !!!!

the one other way I was going to support my stove was at both ends with a small bar going front to back off each side ! this would be clean and leave the ledge along the front and back open for more secure grip on my cutting board Idea and allow the lid to go back on a bit tighter when stored !
kinda like how this is supported on this page imagine just the U shaped bar or square tupbe being used and bolted on to each side !
my thought was to use 1/4 inch square stainless if I did it that way !
    http://asobi-ya.com/products/post_181.html
it could be another way to look at doing it though ? and I still might play with that idea some ? again just not sure if it would be as solid feeling and again I like that filled in look better ! maybe it the stove was a custom 12.75 inches depth I would like it more
also it would make the lid fit more secure when not in use ? again not a big deal cause mine stays on fine now and again I like that filled in look better hahahaha

also like on that page I for sure did not want some tray thing !!! again one less thing to carry etc.. and really felt this tray type thing is not the answer

hope that brain dump helps sorry I cant write well

beside my long winded thoughts in quick for you

    12.75 inches depth max !
    19.5 inches wide !
gas hook up off the back out of the way would be perfect
lid windscreen ? that's a tough one would be cool to have a way to use it out of the IGT but cant see as I ever would and the IGT has a windscreen
so that added cost would be a waste on me and the plain lid is cheaper ! I can see the purpose though and it could be cool just how best to do it ? I am happy with removable top the way mine is though cause I gave it a TON of thought

Thanks for your thoughts. If anybody else is interested, now would be the time to chime in. I will contact Partner Steel in a week or two when I see what the interest level is. It would seem that the dimensions of the SP double stove would be the way to go--I will look those up for comparison.

    Cheers,
    Greg
