The repair costs didnt help, so the decision has been made. I am headed north to look for work, but its not as bad as the title to this post sounds. I had a great trip over the past 14 months and dont regret a single thing. I met amazing people and saw amazing things. The blog will be going quite for awhile, but once the tires hit SA dirt again you'll be hearing for me.

Haha! I would say I feel bad but you just spent 14 months living the dream!

Here's some perspective: Most Americans get/use 2 weeks of vacation a year, so at 14 months you just took 28 YEARS worth of vacation.

Coming back to the states and the daily grind will be good motivation for working your butt off to quickly get back to SA.

you just took 28 YEARS worth of vacation.

You know, that has a nice ring to it.

Also, I was able to get 41 more days on my Passport as you get 6 months per calendar year according to the people in Santa Marta, so it resets on Jan 1st. The DIAN is also giving me 10 or so more days so I can get the van shipped back. As usual in Latin America I have been told completely different things by different people, as the DIAN in Nieva was no help to me.
