I haven't posted in a while but I've been busy on my old k5. I've redone the interior including rhino lining the tub, new dash new seat covers new door panels new headliner etc. Ive also given the engine a good once over (luckily my neighbor is a mechanic) and mounted a new Surco rack. Now it's on to the suspension. I'm not doing a lift just bomb proofing it. She's come a long way.

Very clean K5! Perfect exterior color too! You can’t go wrong with a TBI 5.7L either. They’re as durable as an anvil. I am secretly looking for an ’87-’91 K5 with a TBI 5.7L or a M1009 with a 6.2L myself but the wife doesn’t know yet.

You’ve probably already noticed but you’re still going to want to run carpet or a rubber floormat over the top of that Rhino as Rhino alone doesn’t cut down the road noise and heat enough. I just Rhino’d the interior of my K10 and used Dynamat and rubber flooring to cut down on the noise and heat.

Love your K5! Looking forward to your mods.

FedEx just delivered a 99"x66" piece of BedRug that I will use to insulate the bed. The stuff is super durable and can be cleaned with a hose like the rhino lining. I'll post pictures soon.

When you post pictures would you also include a link to your supplier for the BedRug material? I have a 1984 K5 that I needs the carpet in the back replaced and this sounds like a great idea.

Also which vendor did you get your new dash and door pannels from? Any comments on the quality and the fit? I too need to replace these items. Anyone suprised?

Keep up the good work!

I got the dash and door panel parts from truckandcarshop.com. I'm in san Diego and the vendor is in orange, ca so I was able to see the stuff before buying the door panels are awesome the dash is pretty good (a little flimsy compared to oem but looks good) and the seat belts are great. The BedRug Mat I bought from amazon ($99) i'll post more pics soon. Anyone have suspension upgrade advice? I don't want to lift just bombproof it. I'm already at 87" with the rack installed.

It looks great. I got to get to working on my K5 again. Your south west trucks make me want to crush mine!

It is a safari snorkel for series 80 if I remember correctly. I had to heat and bend it slightly. Had some exhaust tubing bent and purchased large hose to route from my aircleaner. Also raised the vents. Still considering an electric fan. Search for Suburban Snorkel on google.

Not a mod I would do again. Does look neat.
