Restoring GPSmap 62st firmware

OK, this is a long shot but here goes...

I was trying to fix a problem with some custom maps on my 62st and I accidentally deleted all of the important system files on the unit's internal flash storage (not my SD card). That immediately hosed the unit. Trying to fix it, I reformatted that storage device and of course, that only made things worse. The GPS boots up and displays a map w/ current location but when you push a button, the screen does not change and you hear a beep. You have to pull the batteries to turn it off.

I'm probably going to have to send the unit back to Garmin for repair but I'm hoping that someone here might have some secret squirrel info on how to re-flash these devices. Maybe even a disk image that I could use to write over the blanked-out system partition?

The Garmin firmware update utility doesn't even recognize the device when I attach it.
