Flippac back and installed

Finally got my Flippac back and installed ready for the season. A few mods made along the way to solve a few fit issues with a newer Tacoma. The plastic bed rails removed revealed the stake holes and slots the Flippac did not cover on the front sides of the bed. I had some strips of rocker panel cover with adhesive backing I cut to fit down the rail to cover the holes.



Next a section to cover the area the lower window contacts the tailgate to prevent rub damage.


The fit is very clean and sturdy one strip of rubber seal attached to the flippac where it meets the bed rail and hose test reveals no leaks no silicone needed, very happy with the results!!

You Toyota guys sure get me to thinking. If I wasn't in to my Jeep so deep, I'd sure consider a Toyota Tacoma.

This is the stuff I used, Had a friend with some strips left over thank God, pretty expensive stuff. I had some very thin pieces of carbon fiber laying around and cut them a little larger than the stake holes for support and taped them in place then covered the whole thing in the film. The film covered the smaller slots very well. Strong thick and resistant to tearing. Very sticky backing glue it should hold up well. On the website they do make bed rail strips which are cheaper than buying the rocker kit but still expensive. Thanks Tacodoc for pointing out the rub thing in an earlier post so I could take action first and prevent a paint issue from the get go.

Is that a new Flip Pac? I like the lines as it lines up with the cab.
