Thread: All Pro Lower Control Arms

Default All Pro Lower Control Arms

Mine just arrived today! Also bought the Mini "skid plates" for the upper mounting brackets. Made from 1.5" x 2" x 0.188" DOM tube with OEM rubber bushings (no squeaky poly) for a factory ride

The little skid plates protect the thin steel factory brackets

when installed they'll look something like this

Yeah! Would have felt better if I had them before Big Bear! As long as I get them in before I pretzyl the factory links...

Here is a rough idea of the thickness of stock LCAs. The one on the right is stock at 0.090" and is seam welded

    Default All Pro links installed

Comparison shot; twice the unsprung weight but worth it. Note the difference in brake line
    brackets/mounts.
This is important as I have extended sway bar links that keep the sway bar at
normal alignment with my rear lift setup.

I didn't really like the simple tab style brake line bracket mount. Toyota's design should be
copied to keep the line at the same height.

Stock setup for comparison with better clearance between the link and the brake line

and the bracket protectors won't quite fit.. I need to call Terry at Al Pro
and see if there are any options for me otherwise I'll have to sell them to an FJ owner.

note that the bolt hole is off if you want the top left tip to butt up to the frame

or to get the hole to line up the top left tip won't line up properly so FJC link brackets on the
frame must be different in some dimensions

    or my error somehow....??

At least I have some beefy LCAs so I won't have to worry about carnage!

The rest can be figured out eventually.

Perhaps one of those little carbide rotary cutting bits for a drill, and just hog out the hole a little? Had to do that on a skid plate to clear a rivet, it takes some time but it works.

Those control are pretty beefy but really disappointing to find about fitment problems AFTER you purchase the product during installation.

All Pro is notorious for this. Their rear locker skid for Tacomas hits gas tank during extreme flex, their bolt on SAS kit is a joke just ask Hytenor on TTORA and their wrap around rear bumper doesn't for allow any space for the wrench used to crank down the spare tire.

I can't say anything about the other issues but on this topic I think the culprit is small differences in the FJC and the 4Runner. Both use the same OEM LCA's so the ALL-Pro LCAs fit just fine but the brake brackets were not well executed.

The frame bracket "skids" are another issue where no OEM part exists to copy. I have exchanged a number of e-mails with All-Pro's owner and I am inclined to just cut off the little "ramps" on these skids as the benefits minor and the fit problems are annoying.

Good luck. IMO, buyer shouldn't be doing R&D on someone's product unless the its made clear to the buyer. All the R&D should've been taken care of before product release.
