Rocky Mountain 87 Burban build

this is how i pretty much bought my burban, this is after i bought new wheels for it. It came with hubcaps. 350tbi, 4 speed muncie, 3/4 ton , 10 bolt, 14 bolt semi floating with 3.73 gears pretty basic stuff.

then i put a 4 inch lift amd built a rack on top with KC's

then i found an warn bumper and 8274 winch

mounted it up

then added skunk stripes

then i blacked out the bottom half of truck and wheels.

then after 5yrs of hard wheeling like Grizzly lake and Wheeler lake my truck couldnt hanlde the abuse no more

broke centering pin

and bent up my 10 bolt pretty good. and the 33 inch tires were too small

broke my winch cable

replaced it with a 12000 lb cable on the left

then time for new tires
procomp extreme at's 315/75r16

time to beef up drivetrain
found a 14 bolt ff with detriot locker and 4.56 gears and an dana 44 with cross over steering started with 4.56 gears

getting the 10 bolt out

old beat up and bent 10 bolt finally out

while doing the swap i replaced the broken tranny mount

time for the rear

old semi 14 out

new 14 ready to go in

now to bolt everything up and set up proper angles

now much better set up

then time to rewire the lights since somewhere last year they qiut working

took off old ligthts and replaced them

this time we used relays and a fuse block to work the lights

clean set up now

found a push button light switch to control all lights

put the master control panel under steering column

to clean up the front we made a new license plate mount that hooks up the winch fairlead.

and took the hilift out from in truck and mounted to the rack

much better

found an old Palomar 21 cb radio and installed it. i like the classic look it matches the old rig, ive never seen another Palomar 23 channel radio

mounted the antenna ball thru taillight

to gain access you must remove tail light

Next is to put a 205. Tcase in it and get rid of the slipyoke. Finish the crosssoversteering, rear disk brakes, flipthe rear hangers and body lift.

nice build up! im deffinetely jealous! i dont have the time to start on my 75 suburban yet. for now im occupied with my jeep

What paint did you use for the lower part of your truck, (the part that you painted black) and how is it holding up?
I am planning on using a spray on bedliner on my suburban, for the lower part that is currently white.

Its bed liner spray can from Ace. One can pretty much did wheels and lower half of truck. Its textured and durable. Its $10 a can. Thanks glad u like it.
