Kruger Canoe Quiver now complete...

Over the past few years I've become absorbed in the Verlen Kruger legend & the crafts that he designed to enable his amazing adventures and paddlling feats.

With the purchase over the weekend of a Verlen Kruger designed - Mad River Canoe Built Monarch, I now have the Trio of Kruger crafts built by himself and 2 other canoes companies with his permission. The evolution of the Kruger canoes began with the Loon (licensed to Sawyer), followed by the Monarch (licensed to Mad River Canoe) and finally the Verlen Kruger designed & built Sea Wind. Now my friends can join me on Kruger paddles!

Dude, you're going to need to get into a 12 step program of some kind to deal with your Kruger addiction
I've never paddled one so if I ever get a chance, I would take you up on your offer. Didn't he design a tandem version of some kind? I seem to think some canoeing friends of mine bought a tandem Kruger for ocean paddling. I've never seen it but I could swear I've heard them talk about using it on a trip off the coast of BC.

I like the idea of the Dreamcatcher, for rough water in the Great Lakes & Oceans, with it's kayak deck & cockpit, yet the same hull as the Sea Wind. Also, the Kruger Cruiser would be totally cool for a Mississippi adventure tandem style.

That being said.... The quiver remains a few crafts shy of a full load. I do have my eye on a couple of Dreamcatchers currently for sale used, but out of price range. ($3500 - $5000: approx. 30 ever produced)

We'll see, when the savings account finds a surplus once again...

Those prices are pretty steep. I remembered some more things about my friends and their Cruiser. It converted them to rudders on canoes. He designed a rudder to mount on his traditional canoes for use when they paddled big Canadian lakes in Saskatchewan. I've never paddled a canoe with a rudder but he claimed setting the rudder when paddling in a cross wind enabled them to paddle a lot more efficiently.

I have a 1980 model Sawyer loon. It's in good shape, needed new cables but am interested in selling it because of a move to Utah and no longer have the ability to keep it in a storage area. Any ideas?
