Is the forge a week closer with only 1-2 weeks to go now (should line up nicely with incoming Nemo tents you anticipate late April)? Do you think a backup forge may be needed? Do you expect to crank out any more completed Habitats this month? Would be nice to see a rolling timeline update for units 2, 3, etc. maybe once per week (seems reasonable for those of us with deposits) so we know where things stand for summer trips this year. Thanks, guys!

4/13 Update: Since it now appears delivery is "hinging" on the forge coming through according to what they said (rods due in 2-3 weeks which was stated nearly 2 weeks ago), how's this timeframe from the forge holding up to be real within another week?

I suspect an update may be coming very soon since it will have been 3 weeks for the forge to meet their own commitment on the torsion bar. I hope it is good news for this critical part. Nemo sure stepped up to the plate changing to a US tent manufacturer for a faster turnaround and the production version is looking spiffy. Mario - will the Nemo zip on awning be available for purchase when Nemo tents start delivering?

Maybe I missed it, but what is the pricing like on this thing? The website says that a price list is available for download, but either it doesn't exist or the link doesn't work.

I've been planning to have a pop-up camper built for my F150, but I just looked at a new Rubicon Unlimited and it peaked my curiosity a bit. Before I order a bunch of new gear for my truck, I'd be curious to see where I'd end up ($$$) with a new Jeep and Habitat.

According to this page (http://store.adventuretrailers.com/c...es/JK-HABITAT/) the price is $7K. Though in July of last year, I downloaded the Excel spreadsheet and it was priced at $6K. Perhaps cost of materials, manufacturing, etc. went up?

    Default Lockable rear latches?

Does anyone know of any possible replacement for the rear latches with a lockable kind?

Something like this looks like a good alternative from Rampage Products.

Any other ideas or solutions offered by UMV or AT?

I like those latches. Mostly the black finish. I noticed on the production #1 the shinney latches on the black top. Did not like. AT; please find black latches, lock or not.

Wow, I thought it was going to be in the mid 5's, not $7g! But I guess when you own the market you can do that. Very cool concept though, I had my wife sold on it at $5k so now its really going to cost me.

What type of build time do you guys expect once production is rolling, and how many preorders do you have?

It is really sad to hear that the habitat wont support a roof rack though, I always thought the flip pack wouldn't work simply due to the cab clearance when flipped open. I wonder how one could carry a kayak or canoe with the habitat. I would hate to drag a trailer around just to carry a couple kayaks....

The black latches look much better, and being able to lock the top would be nice for sure.

I saw the j30, also very cool, but the wife thinks it would be too cramped for us without a dedicated open to the "downstairs". I'd be very interested to climb around in both, side by side. The j30 hard top would be great in inclement weather, but the habitat clearly has the space advantage. It looks like the rear "shelf" in the habitat could easily accommodate a flush mounted sink/stove, and leave available space to run duct work for an espar heater upstairs, space to stand and crawl around etc. At the end of the day I think I'd rather have the habitat and forget about a kayak. Maybe a light weight boat could be strapped on top with foam blocks or something anyway.
