I am looking at building a hard lid for my M101A2, but there is not much out there. From what I can find, nobody as done it and posted a AAR. I don't have use for the tarp and bows as it is like towing a brick down the highway.
I had though about welding one up and having it skinned with sheet metal but it would be one heavy SOB. I am thinking about doing one up made of wood the a few layers of fiberglass over it. That should keep in managable, but I need to get an idea on the inner frame. I want to put a roof rack on top and it needs to hold a good few hundred pounds.
My question, has anyone here built a hard top for one??
