From that list I'd choose the Glock.

I do love my Sig's, but you need to be committed to enough practice to get the DA/SA trigger action down.

When my friend and I went shooting awhile back with our Glock 21SFs (45 ACP) he also brought along a new 19 I shot, I liked it as well.

For me it is Glock.
Lotta Glock haters out there, but rent some at a range and see how you like them.
I like Glock handguns out of all the others on the market.
They just fit my hand better, and I like the light weight, easement of breakdown, and easy to clean.

Also a lot of info on guns is in the Sportsman's section here.

Glock.
I've been carrying a Glock 23 (same size as 19) for 3 years in a Comp-Tac M-Tac holster on a good belt. The gun and a spare mag conceal with just a t shirt and I'm 5'8, 170lbs.
I had an XD 40 but I traded it on the Glock after sending the XD back to the factory and it still not functioning right.
After you get your gun and ccw, take a good defensive pistol course. Training is more important than gun choice in my opinion.
Oh, this is my first post, Hello everyone! :wavey:

I have an XD9 Tactical with a 5" barrel. It's wonderfully ergonomic, and having owned it for a while, I absolutely appreciate the grip safety, loaded chamber indicator, and cocked indicator.

Much more comforable in my hands than a glock, and I definitely prefer the sighting system.

I have 5 magazines and all are flawless. (ordered mine during the magazine promo last year.) I've got about 500 rounds thru the gun, with zero malfunctions right out of the box. It's eaten every type of ammo I've thrown at it.

I love that I'm going to be able to install a weapon light when I have the chance, and definitely like that I can choose any light I wish. (some guns can only take certain lights on their rail. Sig, maybe?)

My wife considers the XD to be very comforable too. She's an excellent shooter with it. :)

Had a Glock- loved it, but could not bring it to the US with me. Now I'm in the same search for a 9mm and pretty much settled on the SR9. from what I've seen, the post-recall reviews are excellent. It's quite a bit less, and while I don't want to base my purchase on price alone, it does not seem like a SR9 is too much of a compromise over anything else. Plus, I now shoot lefty but occasionally revert back to righty, and the SR9 is nicely ambi.
It also just felt really good and natural. I have small palms, longish fingers, and it just felt great. Reminded me of my Glock. I also like the dedicated safety, as well as trigger safety.

I have a S&W M&P .40C....what is cool is that you can buy a S&W M&P 9C replacement barrel and turn your .40C into a 9mm...of course you will need 9mm magazines, but buying the barrel and magazines is cheaper than buying 2 guns.

Anyway buy the .40C and you get 2 guns in one....just saying.

I used to have a Ruger P89 9mm, and it was kinda crude and clunky. The slide rattled in the frame, which was not cool. The Springfield and Glock are much better made, more accurate and nicer to shoot, in my opinion.

I personally do not like the ruger line of pistols. To clunky and not a very comfortable fit in my hands. I would say Taurus but honestly if your gonna go Taurus jump to the 40cal.

9mm hands down goes to the Beretta Para (?) as far as feel, accuracy, and mechanical. I have not felt a pistol that smooth ever. Unfortunately I do not own it but I am gonna find one!!!

Don't rule out a Glock 26. I bring it up because you mentioned light weight and concealable as selection criteria.

Don't let the short grip hold you back until you've had a chance to shoot it. I thought the same thing when I was looking at the Glock 27 (.40 cal version; same frame). The dealer at the range had to convince me to try it...I was sold right away. If I hadn't shot it before buying it, I would have never even entertained it due to the short grip. But, it works, and it works well. Consider it.
