    Default Chevy frame specs

I thought someone may find this useful:

    http://www.gmupfitter.com/publicat/2..._GMT800_CK.pdf

I'm sure everyone else here who has a Chevy van can testify that finding info and/or aftermarket accessories our vans is difficult or don't exist. I've also heard the the vans share frames other models and others say the van frames are wider than the trucks. No one can cite their sources. I came across this PDF posted online for Chevy pickups. My approach lately has been looking at accessories for the trucks then figuring out if it will work for the van. For example, I'm looking to buy a bumper mounted light bar that was designed for a Silverado. I'm not certain if the attachment points for the bumper for the van are in the same locations. I don't have a Silverado sitting my driveway to make side-by-side comparisons and I'm not willing to spend hundreds of dollars to have something delivered to find out it won't fit. I've been looking for frame specs for a long time and finally found them!

It's for 2005+ vehicles and it is a large file at ~34 MB. I'll be under the van this weekend to see how these frame dimensions compare.

First I will say I like your idea...GM van parts especially since the bankruptcy are not easy to find. But here is what I know for sure...

First if you are talking about newer GM 1996 (gen three) up vans I am no expert.
But from 1966-1970 (gen one) and 1971-1995 (gen two) NO GM vans had removable frames, they were all uni-body construction, body and frame rails welded together...

That said almost nothing except the motor and transmission and the front suspension parts from a truck will fit on a 1971-1995 GM van.. I know I have had many of them since I bought a brand new one in 1976..( I still have a few including a very nice 1995 one ton but I have switched camps to build a U Joint Offroad Ford so it's for sale) Even the bumpers on the 1978-1995 vans while they look just like 1973-1987 truck ones they are different and will not fit....

If you need help, parts or information about the 1971-1995 let me know...
