3 meter cube as a living space

The Cube Project habitat, designed by Mike Page of the University of Hertfordshire, has some interesting ideas that could be used in a camper. (you probably wouldn't want a 3 meter high camper on the back of your truck, but putting the two levels side by side could work).

Here's a 360* view of the interior

here's a Vimeo video in which Dr. Page introduces the habitat

I've lived in a couple of really small places (back when I was single), including a 28' camp trailer, a converted garage, and a tiny efficiency house in Germany, but that would be a little small for me.

One issue for me would be the fact that after preparing dinner you would have to take it down that 'space saving' staircase to get it to the table.

A good bachelor eats over the sink.

As for the Cube, ok a two story garden shed, the work area in the kitchen looks a bit high to comfortably prepare food. The tellie is a bit large, I envision my eyes bleeding trying to watch it.

The whole thing screams "Welcome to the Collective" I imagine good little slaves going to and fro from their Cubes. One for work and one for home. As the giant tellie brainwashes them to "Keep in Line" or "Else"...

Great idea. If I was single with no kids, it would rock, all 21st century Unabomberlike!! Great place to work on my manifesto!

Great little vacation getaway. Drop one on a few hundred secluded acres in the middle of nowhere. SOLITUDE at its finest, with all the comforts of home.

Think how easy it would be to be out doing things instead of holding down the couch. Although you'd have to have another "garage" cube for your toys.

Fun-nay...reminds me of the tumbleweed tiny house here, the guy is selling these things for $50K! Ridiculous. I could (and have) build something similar for under $2000.

For me that garage cube would have to be at least 15m on a side. Even bigger would be better. I'd also need a smaller studio cube for smaller projects...

I tend to agree.

How about a nice 100+ acre parcel, on top of the highest hill a small deck (for outdoor living space) with your 3m cube positioned so you have the best view possible.

Other side of the property, looking like something completely unrelated, a 10000 sq.ft. shop, built to look like an old school red barn.

I could get my manifesto done real quicklike with that setup!:wings:
