Default Peterson's 4x4 Magazine takes on the Road of Bones

The March issue of Peterson's 4x4 and Off-Road Magazine has an article about driving 3100 miles from Vladivostok to Magidan along the infamous Road of Bones in eastern Russia. Suzuki sponsored the trip, providing two AWD Kizashi sedans and two Equator 4x4 pickups. Suzuki also provided a support crew in case of emergency, but the vehicles made the journey without incident beyond the occasional flat tire.

The same could not be said for an Adventure Trailer that was towed by one of the pickups. From photos, it looks like a Chaser model. The trailer suffered a broken suspension. Despite the mechanical issues, the trailer completed the trip.

The Peterson's web site has a photo essay about the trip here.

The participants included writers from Motor Trend and Motorcyclist, so I expect more articles about the trip will be posted online.

I still think the Long Way Round team did a great job covering the road...

Thanks for the link, Dave! It's best for comments to be made in the original thread on this subject, so I'll lock this one.
