free Windows 3d modeling program from Autodesk

Couldn't get it to launch here at the office - suspect my dual screen / dual graffic card was playing havoc with it. One forum suggested downloading an older version of DirectX - I wasn't that anxious to go down that route. I'll give it a shot on the more conventional home system and see what happens. I have (too many) years of experiance with AutoCad so I hope to be able to leverage some of that time served. Things that I can do in my sleep in CAD take gymnastics and deep breathing to get done in sketchup.

Just to add to this if you like autocad and don't have 10K USD

Progecad smart is a free 2d autocad program- with identical use and feel and compatible file types with autocad

the professional version is less than 400usd.

so is the 3d program good or not ?
