Yea I put that up for everyone that doesn't know. But with a few net searches I found several places that sell the newer "water dispersible CARC". I Dont really see anything for original CARC paint, so I guess my warning is a little less important anymore.

However people should be aware that older military equipment can have REAL CARC, and the dust from sanding and/or grinding is also dangerous to breath as well as being flammable.

In fact I remember grinding on a military trailer I had yeas ago (the bigger 3/4 ton or 1 ton version i dont remember what they are called) and noticed the paint burned across the surface kind of like a fuse. If I had known about CARC back then I would have been a lot more cautious.

Now back to the regular programing, sorry for the highjack.

PS both of you have some cool trailers I looked for one for almost 2 years but never found any that wasn't BOTH rusted and over priced. Thats why I built scrappy.

    uscggm,
Trailer looks like it is in good shape. I like it!

Were the original M101CDN2 hubs, wheels and tires still serviceable? Did you keep them?
    falldownjaeger,
I never had the original axle. The previous owner scaped it and put a 3500# dexter under it. I was not happy with the installation as it was bending and breaking at the weld points on the bottom of the tub. That is one of the main reasons I decided to fabricate a frame.

Yeah, it needs a little work. New leaf springs, shocks, and convert the hubs. Lots of potential though!

Here she is as of this afternoon. I disassembled the trailer completely and then had it sandblasted and powdercoated. Still need to order new wheels and tires though. Its still got a long way to go before its done though.

    alfio,

It is approximately 72" from the front of the tube to the end of the lunnette. Backs and pulls great.

    uscggm,
