    Default coleman scanoe?

anyone have any experience with the new coleman scanoe?

i've heard alot of good things about the old version but not much on the new ones, i've also heard some bad things about the all the new "cheap" plastic canoes

Other then price there has never been a good Coleman canoe. They do not run enough cashmere on the rail to support then seat load especially with the thin single layer poly. I used to get them in all the time for repairs after about 3 years of age. The poly spec with Coleman as no u.v. Inhibitors so they become super brittle in just a few years.

You are much better off looking for a used old town discovery sport or mad river square stern

i just found an older coleman on CL with the aluminum frame for $200, gonna try to look at it tonight see what shape its in and if i can bargain with the guy we'll see how things go, i'm just gonna float it in rivers, no rapids and ponds too, so as far as rock damage i'm not too worried and i'll just make sure i store it under cover, right now i'm just looking for something cheap for my first canoe

i appreciate the help tho, but right now being a college student on budget i just want something to get out in
