    Default Help!!!

I recently purchased a M101 one and 1/2 ton trailer from base in Hooks, Tx. My plan was to convert to an offroad camping trailer for use here in Northern, NM. When I arrived to pick it up I found it was too big to trailer home. I took it to a trailer shop in Texarkana and asked them to change out axle and tires, to possibly remove leaf springs, and to otherwise lighten up so I could trailer it back to Santa Fe. I am sure this shop is in over its head and I have not even heard there recommendations in over 2 weeks. I need to find someone within a couple hundred mile radius of Texarkanna to finish, or more specificaaly start this work. My preference is that the trailer be picked up in Texarkana. Any suggestions?

Most of us are using the 1/4 ton trailers - IMHO the 1.5 ton military trailers are not a great fit for off-highway use.

The US M101 is a large trailer and would work well behind a full size truck.

You can replace the axle and wheels/tires with smaller components, but it would marginally reduce the weight and would make it look out of proportion.

There's no way in heck would I consider towing it with my little Frontier.
