Default Bremach camper for Sonja and Jan Gehler

Here's an interesting custom camper design based on the Bremach chassis. The vehicle was built by for Sonja and Jan Gehler, a German couple with a serious interest in adventure travel. The Gehlers spent a year on the road in Africa driving a Land Rover Defender 90 with rooftop tent. The trip is described on their web site http://www.Afrika-Offroad.de

After their experiences in Africa, the Gehlers knew their next camper would be larger, to allow them to eat and sleep inside. They turned to Marcus Haase to design the camper. Here is the result:

    Contact Marcus Haase here http://www.off-road-schmiede.com/

This photo shows the camper with pop-up roof extensions deployed. The camper closes down for travel.

While so many cool European campers use truck chassis that are not available in North America, the Bremach chassis chosen by the Gehlers can be purchased in USA. Gas, diesel and electric hybrid powerplants are available.

Another great find, Haven. Thanks, as always, for your efforts on our behalf.

All the magazines I have read on it say it is offered with a 24 valve cummins as a diesel option here in the US.

Still not too sure I like the styling of the cab but the powertrain options are sweet. Wish more manufacturers offered stuff like this.

Wish I could find some pictures of the interior layout. Would be interesting to see how they used the double popup space.

More external pics in various states of pop.

Too few windows perhaps? The front pop being soft sided I think? I can't get my head round what thats for, unless the bed is above the cab seats maybe? I'll just have to wait for the inside to be done!

Iveco diesel is probably the standard choice in Europe?
