Sonora pass - Tioga Pass

This weekend i took the kids to Mono lake and over the Sonora pass ( be warned there are 27% grades on this pass it was very thrilling with an 8000lb truck and a 1200lb trailer )and then camped at Kennedy meadows. Got there just in time as there was only one camping spot left. Which turned out to be a great spot only 30ft from the river. My truck is way to big and the turn radius is horrible I had to disconnect the trailer and move it into position by hand I did not put a jack on the front of the trailer as i ran out of time I figured i would not be disconnecting it any way (Hind sight is 20/20) Then I had to back the truck up and hook the trailer back up so it would be level. The next morning me and the kids went horse back riding and pushed on toward Sonora where and headed for the Tioga pass. WOW WOW WOW I have never been to Yosemite before and i must say it was very impressive. It seemed like every turn we were more amazed at the beauty of this place. I can tell you this if you have never been to Yosemite You must go in your lifetime it was breathtaking We saw A doe and her two fawn run across the road in front of us the kids could not stop talking about it. Here is where it gets frustrating..... So i was thinking cool its 5pm and we have just left the Tioga pass and are entering Lee Vining we can find a camp ground and settle in for the night. HAHAHA LOL are you kidding me after all this is 4th of july weekend NOT A SINGLE CAMPSITE HAD SPACE. I drove around for hours looking for a spot. Every Hotel room was booked from Bridgeport all the way to Bishop my daughter (11yrs old) bless her heart called while i drove south looking for a place to camp. My son (9yrs old) said he would stay up with me to help me stay awake he was asleep 10 mins later lol I love him dearly. We finally found a place at Crowley lake at around 11pm we set up the pop up and were thrilled to be getting ready to sleep we were even given a bonus with a sky filled to the brim with stars it was very cool. This morning (Sunday July 3) we headed for home. Now this whole trip my AC was not working no big deal in the mountains but From Bishop to Tehachapi was it hot we ended up getting some spray bottles and every now and then (well every 3 mins at least) wetting down to cool off. The kids thought they were having a water gun fight. lol Well I will repost this in trip reports but thought you might like to see here it too. Now to the pics of our trip.
