Default FJFAR80's 1997 Toyota Land Crusier

    All -

Now that I have some time; I am going to start a thread on my 80 Series and I will continually post information about modifications that I am either doing and/or researching.

This will also be a great place for folks to ask about my truck and/or seek advice/feedback on planned modifications. I do not pretend to be the definitive 80 series expert, but I do know a lot about them, I have researched a ton of modifications, and I have done quite a bit to my truck.

I had a present last week when I got home from work - five boxes from Champion Beadlock. The wheels are awesome and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding. I can't say enough about how nice they are. I dropped them off on Monday at Rick's Powder Coating (Memphis) and they are being powder coated in a metallic anthracite color and I decided to leave the beadlock ring polished. I have attached a few pictures showing the wheels upon their arrival. When I get them back from Rick's I will post up some more pictures.

    Very nice.

Where did you get the African Outback drawer system?

Can you provide more information on the ARB rear quarter panel water bladder? Any close-up pictures? Any information about the install? Where did you buy it?

More information on the supercharger please.

I lived in Hong Kong from 2007 through 2009. I ordered the AO drawers directly from AO. Since there was no distributor in HK, I was able to become one for HK (just to order my drawers). I had them shipped to HK and then when we moved back to the States, I shipped them with our household goods.

The ARB bladder is a specialty item that ARB makes for the Australian market, it fits behind the US passenger rear quarter panel (where the sub is). It is a flexible bladder that has two inputs/outputs that allow you to drain, fill, pump, etc. I have mine hooked to a SHURflo water pump then to a Helton heat exchanger, the water then flows back to the rear of the truck to a bumper connection.

Supercharger, standard TRD supercharger made for the 80 series, bought it when they re-released them in 2007 and had it installed in 2009 when I moved back to the States. The best investment for the 80 I have ever done...it really changed the dynamics of the vehicle.

WoW! all I can say is that's a very impressive build. I am leaning towards Goodyear kevlars and would like your impression on these tires and are you running spacers with your 2.5 OME lift? I have heavy and heavy and would like to run 315's as well. Do you have any rubbing with your set up? What are you using for caster correction? Nice GSP's as well... and is your employer hiring? anyhow very nice LC.

I have no issues with rubbing and I am not running any spacers. The MTR's are awesome, when I air them down to 16-18psi they have ridiculous grip. When aired up they drive and handle great on the road...thus far, no issues with the tires.

Vince and my friends at IPOR are the ones who acquired that ARB bladder for me...I can't say enough things about IPOR and their quality of work...just a great company and gentlemen to do business with.

I have an 80 series. You've given me a lot of good ideas regarding possible mods/upgrades. I have an African Outback drawer system in my Land Rover Discovery. I like it, particularly the fridge slide. I don't think AO products are available in the US at the moment.

What sort of hp and torque gains did you see from the super charger? Do you have any dyno graphs? (would be curious to see where along the rpm curve the additional power kicks in.) Did you need to upgrade any of the other driveline components as a result of the supercharger?
