eBay Roof Baskets

Has anyone used one of these aluminum roof baskets from eBay?

I've done a little research and they're made by Larin Corporation...but I don't know anything about them, either.

Can anyone speak for the quality of these baskets?

Any information and/or installed photos would be appreciated.

I don't have one of those but I'd take a pass. It doesn't look very robust. Look for a rack that is not held together with screws but welded instead.

for about $80 more you can buy a Yakima or Thule basket and get a warranty

For the same price you can get a set of "tri fold" ramps from harbor freight and make a much stronger lower profile rack.

The design of the bottom and the attachment brackets look like the old BVG racks.

Thanks for the comments! I'll stay away from the eBay rack....

What are the thoughts on Curt Mfg racks? I found a source for their 42" x 37" x 4" rack plus a 21" extension for only $170 and free shipping. That seems pretty reasonable and Curt products seem like decent quality...but marketing photos on a website can definitely be deceiving!
