Versa Trailer Done

I considered the lower profile tire, but that would still not allow me to use the spare from the jeep. If I had a flat, I would have to remove the fender in order to run the spare.

I am running slipper springs right now, which I hate. So, I will think this through and go with YJ springs or similar. I am sure I will figure out something.

By the way, as you can see, raising the fenders would be tough. There is a "sill" that the fiberglass cover sits on, so raising the fenders would be tough.

What I HAVE considered is raising the side panels (the blue part) by inserting a six inch spacer of sheetmetal. That would make the entire trailer deeper, but would not change the geometry of the lid or anything like that. I would then not need to drill more holes for the fenders, since the fenders would not move in relation to the side panels.

I like that plan! Raise the sides with spacers will give you a deeper tub and more storage room.
Raise the fenders higher and use your matching wheels. Looks good!
