Default Mercedes Vario 4x4 Chassis - for the hardcore builder (need full body)

    [Not affiliated ]

I just found these Mercedes Vario 2007 4x4 Chassis, and thought they might be worth posting, as the price of $2,500 is cheap considering they're 2007 models with less than 10,000 miles.
Sure, they need a lot of work, yet they would form the perfect basis to build a fully integrated custom 4WD-camping van from ground up... And the Vario offers great load capacity (over 3.5 tons), as it is a "real" truck chassis.

What I don't know: what's the spare parts supply situation for the T2-Mercedes-trucks in the US (or Canada)?
We traveled, starting March 2006 ending May 2009, from the Arctic Circle to Ushaia (Patagonia/South America) in a FORD F250 + Bigfoot 1500 Camper.

I wonder how hard it'd be to put an older Dusseldorf van body on that chassis?

Parts are tough to get in the US if my experience with a 409d is any indication. I bought my parts in the UK. Drivetrain is probably worth the asking price. The armored part of the story doesn't ring true to me given the state of the remaining body parts.
