    Default Diesel Gas Mileage Comparison

    Hi All!
Anybody know relative gas mileage for various diesel vans, short buses, truck-buses, etc.? Thanks!

    Actually,

"Gas" mileage will be around zero since they use diesel fuel.

    I keed,I keed.

I'd guess between 6-18 depending on the engine and overall vehicle weight and gearing.

My van (worst case scenario) gets 15-16 hwy. I hope to bump that up on my next trip via the new programmer & a few upgrades I've made.

V3 (6" lift on 35's, 7.3) just got 17-18 when I delivered it per my rough calculations. I was pretty impressed.

I have gotten 16 with my 7.3 eb 4:10s and stock tires driving like a little old lady. Real time I get best of 15 empty worst of 10 (loaded towing about 6000 pound boat, canoe on roof, two bikes in the van and all of our goodies for a few weeks) and driving my normal style "80mph". Normally just pulling the boat or one of the broncos I can get about 13 with normal driving habits. Those are actual mpg's on my 7.3 with 4:10s and 37 inch tires.

97 7.3 RB 4x4, on my first tank check i got 20.5mpg, mixed mountain driving. my later checks that were not as scientific had it slightly lower--like 18--with alot of short trips and sitting for weeks. I did change from lame "street" tires that came with the van when i bought it on the first check to a more suitable aggressive tire--in the same size. might have effected milage

forgot to put my gearing: 3.73

03 E350 w/ Quigley 4x4 conversion, "aerodynamic" hightop and the 7.3 powerstroke with very mild chip and no other mods - about 15 or so at 65-70. that drops to 9-10 when pulling a 29' (approx 7k) toyhauler at 60.

2000 E350 7.3 powerstroke with a mild chip, 2wd; I get about 20 usually; drops to 18 with alot of freeway miles (82mph is my sweet spot).

    11-12 pulling a 20 foot travel trailer.
