Default Overland Journal Needs to Borrow a FZJ80 Land Cruiser

    Hello All,

Overland Journal is going to be conducting a comprehensive equipment test that we need a clean, near-stock FZJ80 Toyota Land Cruiser for. We will pay your fuel to Prescott (as long as the drive is not too far, preferably Phoenix) and give you a loaner vehicle (promise it will be cool) and also provide you with some serious swag once the test is over. The test will take two full days. The truck does need to look clean, have no notable stickers and have tasteful modifications so as not to distract from the item being tested.

Originally, we thought our own 80 series would be back at the office from Panama, but plans changed and it still sits way far south.

Please send me a note if you are interested: scott (at) overlandjournal (dot) com

I have a 92 FJ80 in Prescott, but not sure if that year will work for what you are needing it for. Not stock, but super clean.

Depending on what you are testing, just remember the 1991/1192 is a completely different truck from the 93/94 series and then the 95/97 series. If it is drivetrain related, then you have to be aware of that. It is a FJ80 and not a FZJ80

Is this for the jumping test I've been hearing about? Your going to jump a stock 80 over a 30' dune vs. a prerunner setup

well, this is all my fault...our Expo Land Cruiser is still down at Panama Passage, I am on my way on the plane right now to bring it back somewhere...perhaps Costa Rica, Guatemala or South America...
