Hummer Picture Thread

Actually one of the purposes of the build was to take it to SEMA for GM to see. Since it took so long to finish, by the time we got it to SEMA, GM had dropped the ball. It is a good thing that AMG kept the rights. The sad thing is that with all the Fed DOT requirements it will probably plagued with electronics like all the new vehicles. :( Kind of kills the rustic ruggedness of the original H1/HMMWV.

we have a inside man who deals with am general staff. he was told am general cant offer HUMMER h1 till 2015 then when it comes out costomers will have few deferent engine options.

the good thing about the h1 is its 8500 lb body keeps him in a comercial truck class and lots of the stupid electronics can be bypased. including air bags

Here's my H2. I've done a bit of traveling and camping with my 8 year old in it; enough room for all our gear and an air mattress in the back. I bought it last time gas was over $4 a gallon so I paid a few thousand under trade in value for it :sombrero:. Sorry about the pavement pictures.IMG_20110627_161301.jpgIMG_20110627_161318.jpg

for a long time land rover club was making fun of my H1 ( funny huh a guy in a 2000 dollar disco that is known as #1 roll over 4x4 makes fun on mighty H1) by crying its to wide its this and that. one day during monthly rover offroad days i showed up with my h1.. that same day they had 3 roll overs. and that same place my hummer passed 30 mph.
who pulled them out of sh.it? my 12.000 lb winch did. that was the end of crying about the size of the hummer. and us armed forces are not stupid to use the hummer,
late 50s military jeeps were killing to many of our guys by rollover.

i always say >> if there are few trails that my hummer wont fit. i can name about hundred trails that i can make u turn half way come down and others will roll over by even looking at it. let alone trying to do the same

my hummer is 2 inches shorter and 2 ft wider than my range rover 18 inch ground clearance. even a blind person can see hummer is a real deal.

( but that doesnt mean i dont love my land rover or any other 4x4) i love of all

one day i would love to test drive the h3t alpha before i get one
There is no denying that H1s are incredible vehicles. The military uses them for a reason. You should defintely take out an H3T sometime. I wont tell you it will compare with the H1.... Cuz it wont haha but they are still great trucks

Whoever says that Hummers aren't good expedition vehicles is because they haven't tried it. I did the Camel Trophy in a Land Rover. After that experience I know that I wouldn't do something like that in a LR if I could avoid it. Even the H3 could be good. It's all a matter of preparing it right. That goes for any vehicle. If I did more than 8000 kms in the Australian Outback with a TJ, you can pretty much do anything with any vehicle. Here's a pic of my H3. I didn't build it for expedition but could transform it in no time.

i looked on los angeles craigs list. there is not even one h3t let alone the alpha model that i would like.

alpha comes factory with lockes front, back and center thats an amasing truck

it would of been nice if gm made them extra cab to be few inches shorter but its cool the way it is

There arent too many out there for sale yet. Ya the adventure package I got for mine gave it front and rear locking diffs which is so nice coming stock. The length hasnt been an issue too much but with the GM UCP the few times it was I just slid right over the obstacle. The alpha is the way to go though for sure. I cant wait for my engine/transmission swap

I've been lurking around for some time now. Before I got into the "weekend 4x4" scene, all I did was adventure style 4x4. I participated in events like: Camel Trophy, Rainforest Challenge, Warn Challenge, Outback Challenge, and Croatia Trophy (Formerly known as Transylvania Trophy). I wish the US would organize events like that. They are so much fun and don't have to destroy your rig like in KOH or Rockcrawling events. I bet you that if somebody organized it, you would get people from all over the world showing up.

Man that is absolutely awesome. Any one of those events has to be just amazing to participate in. And I agree that something similar should be set up here in the US. So much of the US is developed but im sure there are enough dirt roads and trails to piece something together. If more states could come up with routes like the WABDR then it could defintely be done.

In Europe/Asia/Australia you even get weekend versions of Adventures Challenges. They just called them winch challenges. Usually on some private property. They are so much fun, yet in the US they have never made it. The closest thing ever was the Warn Safari Challenge in Ocala Florida. But that phased out due to a moratorium on the national park. It could have been held anywhere after that. It's the type of events the ExPo crowd would love.

i never met a person who owned and H1 sold it and doesn't miss it. i donno what's about this truck, first i have to tell you it is a chick magnet to the max in southern calif,

girls in here are tired of usual BMW and Benz, every one drives those, they want the alpha dog and nothing is more macho than h1.

pull in to club bunch of Ferrari or Bentley, but only one says get the f... out of here. its my place and that's the h1. and ppl know that very well.

its the only truck you can go kick a.. on mountains. deserts. wherever you want cover it in mud dirt dust, and the same night drive to club in beverly hills, and it still does WOW,
