I had a 1980 that I picked up in CA in 1995 for 4K.

I saw one in Marfa, TX a while back and the owner couldn't believe I knew what it was.

I'm on BAT as well & check it out when it was first listed. It really is cool, my best bud had one in the early 90's, but I think there nutz asking that kind of cash for it. Not to say its not clean with all the right history etc. But you can do a lot & get a lot more with that kind of cash in your pocket. JMO

I had a yellow 81 Trekker exactly like that one, less the graphics. It was in pretty nice shape, but that kind of money is insane. They are just not that useful. The construction was lousy, they leaked and were noisy. I also had a 82 Trailblazer, which was the same concept except it used the stock steel bed with a permanent fiberglass top. I think it overall was a better method, but still noisy. Bottom line, when Toyota decided to build the 4runner, it made these not real desireable except as collector items.
