anyone mount a smittybilt defender roof rack to their suburban? Preferably 07-14 Z71 models, and didnt use the suggested mounting adapter? I like the rack just not the added height, was thinking of paying a friend to weld some mounting brackets and lower the profile.... I would really appreciate it! Going to order the one piece 6.5' L today or tomorrow....

Nice. Really like the roof mount tent, and rack! Do you have any detailed pics of the rack, and/or how it's attached?

Still nothing special going on with the exterior of my Sub, deliberately so. Just a big black bus. Recently installed a Rough Coutry 2" suspension lift / level kit and their N2.0 shocks, real nice improvement, far as I'm concerned.

But I keep working on various refinements and interior upgrades, the latest of which is my storage platform / drawer setup.
