What paint/color did you use for the trailer & Jeep?

Nice build. I too wanted to go aluminum on the lid that mirrored the tub, but as you found out, just way to expensive for my budget. Steel fab'ed like the Chaser and Horizon in two pieces bolted down the center for less than half the cost of your lid. Obviously it weighs more being steel.

Love what you've done with the tongue. Look forward to more updates!!

    Default lid

agreed on the lid 100%. it was expensive to do in aluminum but the payoff was a lid that weighs 94 lbs; we weighed it the other day. Being that the trailer came with the jeep when i bought it i was able to spend a bit more on customizing it with the aluminum instead of steel. the color for the jeep and trailer is a custom color done by the AEV tech who built the jeep. It is what Chrysler used to create their Sahara Tan (at least that what i was told) and after seeing both in person it is pretty damn close.

picking the finished trailer up Saturday morning, cant wait to have it all done and head out to the Catskills for a test run. will post pictures this weekend most likely.

    Default lid hardware

lid hardware is all mounted up. we were able to mount the lid strut support into the existing bolt hole which gives it a cleaner look. should have the trailer tub finished by tomorrow and then reassembly on friday.

Love the build! Can you post pics of where the extended front is attached to the tub? Also how much was the front extended? The measurement from the tub to the pintle? I have a similar trailer and I am trying to figure how much I can extend it and still have reasonable road manners? Cheers ian

sure thing. will do this weekend after I pick it up. I believe the trailer is right around 139" total length from the front edge of the receiver tube on the trailer to the rear of the trailer. the original M101cdn were 114" in length but i'm not sure if that accounts for the 4" additional for the rear tow loops or not. the front section of the original M101cdn is 36" i believe and the new tongue is 64 1/4 including the receiver. the wheelbase of my jeep is 107" and the the trailer tire center line to the front receiver tube is around 101" but i'll double check all measurements for you this weekend. It should track just slightly inside of my jeep which is what we were going for and will aid in backing up.
