We ditched our first gen Spot a year ago... If the inreach goes iOS I'm on it! Can't someone in expo get a semi official statement from Delorme?

I am really debating getting this for our Australia trip...but 8 days before we leave is a tight timeline to get a new device and learn how to use it.
Still very cool of them to keep updating and improving the product.

now everyone say "so what where have you been lately?"
Jeff I got it today and like you I am setting it all up for a test this weekend.
Please update your thoughts as you learn also, thanks.

I noticed that they don't post the subscription plans online anymore. What's up with that?
I picked one up before Memorial Day weekend and gave it a test run on the weekend camping trip. It was easy to set up and use. Tracking worked well even in a box canyon and in the Cibola NF. I had no problems sending or receiving messages in areas where there was zero cell phone coverage via Iridium. The downloadable maps look great on my Droid X. The Earthmate application for Android does not have any navigation tools, just displays your location and provides tools for messaging and tracking. My Defender 90 is a soft top, so I hung the InReach on the inside under the canvas and controlled it with the Droid X.![]()
