Default 80 Series: Can hear coolant working it's way to the heater core after startup

Now its getting cooler, when I first start the rig and take off, I can hear coolant circulate behind the dash for a few seconds. Only does it when cold, so I imagine it is perhaps a bit of air in the system and is occurring due to the thermostat opening up. Have read on sources of dubious worth that it could be something ominous. No coolant loss, temps are very stable, no bubbles in the over fill tank, and I am 90% certain that the head gasket was replaced - original owner said she had paid for it to be done (who knows these days, right?) and the PHH was newish with new style clamps. Engine just hit 150K.

Please tell me this is normal.

Noticed the same sound with my 92 Sable, if that helps any. There's been no engine work done on the car and it has 56k on it now.

being that you recently did some work on the cooling syustem its probably just air

Park on a hill front up and re-bleed the system

I'd do it from cold if you can , ie you'll be able to circulate longer before too much expansion- or drain the exapansion tank first so you have some space

sounds like you need to get the bubbles out of the heater core
