I think I would bring the whole Rabbit!! But seriously, I have a co-worker/friend who got an F350 cc 4x4 with an early 6.0 in it. He does a smoke show nearly every time I see him in his truck, (tire shop must love him!), and he has had zero issues of note with his 6.0. I don't think he bothers with Lotto tickets anymore, as his luck is probably busy elsewhere...

And 5.9 > all others! If I had the time, a 97 F250 cc shortbox with Dana 60 front and a 97 5.9 12v with NV4500 would be my ultimate set up...

Absolutely stay away from a 6.0. I really wanted a newer excursion, but couldn't talk myself into a 6.0. Then the older ones with 7.3's all had a billion miles on them and were still going for premium money. I ended up with a duramax. graet truck. I had a cummins dodge before and it was great too. i'd get a 6.4 ford if you can afford one and you really want a ford truck.

I have a 2005 F350 4x4 CC swb with the 6.0, it now has 444,000 kms. I have done oil analysis every oil change, all readings normal. I like the truck a lot and prefer driving it over the new F150 bought to replace it. I would get so little out of the truck if I sold it, I decided to keep it.

275888.809K miles?! How many engines to date? lol j/k

I'm not doubting you whatsoever, but you are definitely one of the lucky ones if that is the original motor, egr, turbo, etc.

I ordered the truck during the winter of 2005 taking delivery in March of that year. The engine has almost always leaked oil, but never too badly. One of the mechanics at the local Ford garage recommended not to do anything about the leak. He was right it never got any worse. It is the original motor, EGR and turbo. So if it blows up tomorrow I would say I got my money's worth out of the truck. Mind you I could give you quite a list of other things replaced on it. I wouldn't have any hesitation to recommend it, it's the 6.4 I would stay away from.

I owned an 04 f350 with the 6.0l from new till feb 24th when it burnt (plow solenoid) and it was a great truck. Now having said that would I just go out and buy one that body and everything else looked ok? No! But I would not hesitate to buy one almost did infact, if it has the proper miles on it for the year and runs and acts like mine did I would in a heatbeat.
