But where we gonna find rubber pants our size?
was curious how the cutting of the roof went. I would be nervous for sure on the first cut.
I am looking at a van that I wouldn't mind doing the same thing. still happy with the V10 with the fuel mileage?
van is looking great
I found a 00 quigley with a 7.3 with 200k miles. just have to find the funds and waiting for pics to make my final dicision
Mtdew....cutting the roof is pretty easy and after reading and watching everything I could on the web, I felt pretty confident that the job was not going to be that tough. It went smoothly and I would suggest it to anyone who wants to do it. As for the V10, I am pretty pleased with it. This being my first Ford, I am impressed with the power and smoothness of it. I am averaged a little over 13 on my last long trip, went by gps and gallons used.
It is finally started to get started on finishing out the interior so a quick trip to Harbor Freight for a saw, and Lowes for some wood, I am finally ready to put that 7th grade wood shop skills to use.

I was able to knock out the bed/box frame. I made it kinda big but I wanted a good nights sleep....It will also house my water tank, 6v batteries etc. I sectioned off the batteries and just have to finish venting them out the side.

Out of wood, I headed back to Lowes with a plan in mind. I figured I would build the sides and top out of 1x4's

As I was loading the wood into the freight elevator at my lofts, I scored a ton of free wood, someone had left behind hardwood 1x10's that I eventually used for the top, and a couple misc sheets of sanded ply I used on the sides. This worked out because the stuff I bought wasnt going to cut it so I took it back. I ended up with this, although its not Bob Villa approved, It is sturdy and works....
