Air quick disconnects

I installed some air quick disconnects in my water lines on the trailer and noticed the water turning rusty color. My well water guy suggested I use brass ones, so I replaced them only to find they have steal bearings inside, more rust.

Is there a fix for this or should I just eliminate them?

An idea

I have had the same issue with my evap in the garage, the rust created a small leak too.

I also found them at the local Ace Hardware.

I think they are all brass, I have not tried one yet.

The biggest problem is that the the balls in the brass coupler should be SS...and there NOT......just cheap, made overseas garbage.

The rust will not last long in the running water.....but the fitting will inevitably prematurely fail.

I just googled "water hose quick connect" and found several all brass options.

several SUPPOSEDLY all-brass options. Most have standard steel ball bearings and springs--they shouldn't be in contact with the water but it still gets rusty.

There are ALL SS options, but they will cost you....

Have you tried marine gas tank fittings there all brass/plasticstainless steel.

you could try the disconnects made for pressure washers... they should be better... that said, I used these meant for garden hoses and have had no problems....
