What do you guys think about this?

looks like a whole lot of stuff for not that much money. I'd think seriously about that one. Hope it works out for ya

Looks pretty enticing. How many owners?

You'll have to evaluate if the price seems right with the installed doo-dads.

For a reference point, I paid $15k for an '02 Taco ExtraCab 4x4 (1 owner) in 2008 with 35,000 miles on it, pristine condition. With your prospective vehicle's mileage, you'll want to check it out before you buy.

Best of luck!

It looks really nice with some pricey aftermarket goodies. It is a lot of miles but if maintained properly could go another 100-150k easily. I don't know if it is the picture but the rear passenger door coloring looks different. I would check it our very closely before buying.

Yeah, I'd check it out if you are in the market, but I also notice that the doors are different colors. It looks like the front fender/passenger door gap is bigger than it should be.

If it were me, I would shop for a stock one with lower miles. Also, just for reference, in sept. of 2006, I got my '02 TRD extended cab with 30,500 miles, stock, in great condition for $14,350. All dealer service records, including the 30K service. :)

There is a thread about how these trucks are appreciating in value. I think they are for a reason, they are great and probably worth the price. Haha, when I bought my Tacoma, one of my co-workers had just got a 2005 Ford Ranger fx4. $18K w/15K on the clock. He told me I wasn't smart for buying an '02, and that it wasn't a good deal. (he was paying 16% interest, by the way, I was paying 6.5% :coffeedrink:)

He had that truck for 2 years and it was depreciating so fast he was upside down it in when he sold it. (His interest rate probably had something to do with that also.)

I guess I will just get to the point and say, they hold their value and they are great trucks if you find a good one. 185K is still 185K... If it is really clean, has a clean title and clean frame, no bodywork, (maybe it's just the picture, like the door isn't closed all the way?) good compression, maintenance history, etc, then I guess it'd be worth it.

'Tis a nice looking rig for sure, and nice choice of wheels.

I have the same ones since summer of 2007, and they still look brand new.

I'd look real close at the work done. What was done. Did he hack anything up that would be expensive to undo. If you're not mechanically inclined or have deep enough pockets to correct someone else's poor work, you might be better served to search for something closer to stock.
I see something like this and I'm inclined to look behind the shiny wheels.

Corey - That is right down the road from you on the South end.

Looks nice and shiney, but what is the real story? It has new tires which always makes me suspicous since you cant see any bad wear patterns.

Take it in and have it inspected by a good Toyota shop and if it checks out, looks like a good buy.

By comparison, the upgrades alone would cost upwards of 7 to 8 K, including sliders, wheels/tires, suspension, bumper, snorkel, etc.

I would also check to see what electrical mods were done and if there is a history of "immersion" in water - it's got a snorkel so has it been in the lake looking for fish? Were all the "other" breathers also re-routed to a higher point, if not has water worked it's way into the various oil filled cavities? These are the questions I would ask.

Some of these tires wear like iron though.
Like I mentioned, my wheels and ******** Cepek Mountaincat mud tires have been on since July of 2007, and even the tires look new still.
They do not wear very fast, and when it comes time to replace them, I will get the same ones again from Les Schwab.

But yes, you gotta take a look at the whole rig and inspect it very well.

If it all checks out, that is a great price, but listen to the advice given so far. Since it is at a car lot, negotiate the price. Anything that pops up when you get it checked out will be negotiating power for you.

If the dealer or the inspection cannot verify that the water pump and timing belt were done, then negotiate that into the price.

Even though they could have been done 100k miles ago, I have read threads where people didn't even think to do it until 180K. Same for the tranny fluid.

Holy crap....I can't believe we all missed that colossal point. Good save, Austintaco!

FWIW I used to live in Puyallup and the River Rd used car lots are notorious for shiny vehicles that end up being a mechanical POS.:Wow1:
Negotiating doesn't exist on thier part from my personal experiences. I've visited several of the lots down there over the years. They usually don't give anywhere near a fair trade in either. (Maybe NW Motorsports is different, but I doubt it.)
Just my.02
Does seem like a decent price, but I'm in total agreement with the above posts. If the test drive goes well, then get it THOROUGHLY inspected so you know if it's even worth negotiating anything.
Toyota Puyallup is right next door. See what they charge for a detailed inspection?
Maybe it was a trade-in @Toyota Puyallup and NW Motorsports bought it from them?
Good luck!

Someone is selling my truck and they added a snorkel! Looks like a great price, if I had the money I would not mind having two of these trucks. :ylsmoke: Make sure it gets a full inspection but it looks like a great buy.
