Land Rover Nicknames

Being new to the Land Rover I am having trouble with nicknames for these trucks. How do you refer to your Land Rover? is it...

a Truck
a Jeep
a Rover
a ...

In South Africa, we refer to Land Rovers as "Landy's". We also frequently give our Land Rovers names, and also put them on the vehicle. Anyone who has spent a deal of time there will attest to this.
My 110Tdi was "My Fair Landy".

A number of years ago I showed up for a hunting trip driving a 94 Discovery. One of my buddies commented on the Discovery. He said something to the effect that it looked like something a ************ in college would've drove.

I've had a few since then. All refered to as The ************.

"Ell-Er" or "Ell-Ers".
