Default Range Rover L322 ARB Front Bumper

Hello again everyone, first I'd like to say thank you for helping me on my other thread in my search to find a way to mount a Jerry Can. I'll post an update over there, but long story short I'm going with a custom rear bumper that will also hold the spare tire.

In the meantime, what brings me back is my new project that I've decided to undertake. I've been doing some research on front bumpers, brush guards, etc. for the front of the Range, and quite frankly I've come up pretty empty handed. Although in carrying out my research I've discovered that some people have had success with installing an ARB front bumper for the LR3 onto their L322 (Mark 3) Range Rovers (as shown below).

In my search for finding a shop to do the customization work I plan to use Arlington Motorcar Service in Tysons Corner, VA which luckily for me is right in my backyard. The two gentlemen that run the place, Bill and Sean, are from the good ole' UK and have been working on Land Rovers in their shop for over 20 years. I trust their abilities, and their amounts of knowledge in regards to Rovers is extraordinary.

So here is where my questions start and I was hoping all of the members over here could help me out once more. I've been unable to speak to anyone who's actually done this project, but I've read numerous threads on other forums. Please share with me any information you may have on this project that you've come across of that you've heard.

So far what I know is that the project was carried out in Australia on an Range Rover L322 using a LR3 ARB Deluxe Bumper. Bill at Arlington Motorcar has already assured me that it should fit, and that I will be able to keep the use of my parking sensors, and flood lights, but anything else this community can provide will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to sharing a build thread soon, thanks again.

I love this. Cant believe there hasn't been more interest. Definitely post about the modifications here! I am back "in the fold" with LR and am foolishly considering trading my diesel pickup for a 2006+ Range Rover.

Definitely trade the pick up. I left land rover briefly when I bought my 06 F350 KR. That lasted 6 months. Nice truck, but the LR3 I bought is so much nicer and less problematic.

    always remember two things:
-anything will fit anywhere, it is just a function of time and money.
-just because it fits, doesn't mean it looks good, or more modern version: just because it comes in your size doesn't mean you should wear it.
It does look decent, and minor to fit on the exterior, but have no idea on the mounts, etc. Also, remember the RR has a recovery point front and center below the stock bumper- so watch for potential interference there.

    *Update*

So we took the front bumper off today and took measurements, and it looks like the existing mounts will work just fine. The only problem that we are going to have to overcome is that we will either need to cut into the front fenders, or use a plasma on the bumper. Everything else should transfer nicely including the parking sensors, headlamp washers, and the factory fog lights. I'll post more updates as they come in, and sorry for no pictures. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

It looks like the ARB in your photos was cut, not the fender. That gets my vote.

One quick dumb thing that I learned by putting a Defender ARB on my series rover:

Check the bolt hole sizes in the chassis and the bumper. Its dismal when you bolt the thing up and then realize that your bolts are too small for one set of holes, or vice versa. Then the bumper is on there and its all wobbly and crappy.

Like I said, its a dumb thing but taking the .005 seconds to check will save you some time, and back ache is you are holding the bumper up and wondering why it won't bolt up.

That bumper looks great on there. I also vote for cutting the bumper rather than the vehicle to fit.

Please share pics when you can. I am curious how the bumper fits with the 2006+ nose versus the 03-05 shown in the pics above.
