In the market for a 29er..

Hey guys I am currently in the market for a full suspension 29er. I have looked around and ridden a few different bikes but really just looking for some guidance from some seasoned bike ppl. Any and all help would be great. This will be my do it all bike that I plan on keeping for some time to come.

Price range?

I'll just throw this out there - We just received our 2012 Rocky Mountain Element 930 bikes in the shop. At $2200ish they're a great value in my opinion. What immediately grabbed me was the length of the chainstays. At 17.5" for a medium, they're as tight as many hard tails. Overall, the bike rides great.

We've also got a couple 2011 Giant Anthem X29ers on sale, so let me know if you don't find anything.

Sorry I read other threads like mine and meant to update with a price. On that note my max price is 2500.00 I checked out specialized and a few others I am just not sure where to go. I will look up those bikes and let you know. Any additional info or recommendations?

I chose the Rumblefish from Gary Fisher/Trek. Test ride a bunch of different bikes.
Looks like Trek will be in your area next Sat. 19 Nov.

Thanks for the help and suggestions, I ended up buying a specialized camber. Rode a few different bikes at a local shop and it seemed to fit me best and rode well. See you guys on the trails!

I have been selling/repairing/riding Specialized bikes for 8+ years now and every time I get on one whether it's mine a customers or just a new one in the shop they fit like a glove! You can spend a fortune on custom bikes but I would still prefer my specialized.

Nothing wrong with the Specialized you ended up getting. However, my suggestion would have been the Cannondale Scalpel 29er Alloy 4 for around $2300. Have fun out there and enjoy the new bike!
