Looked at the website and their trailers a few years ago. I like the fact that they use essentially a truss as the drawbar design instead of "beams". Doing the 3D frame means that the framing for the entire trailer can be lighter. Very innovative I thought. Also thought they could change it to 2 struts from the hitch up to each corner to really make it structurally efficient but it reduces what you can carry on the drawbar.

You'll have to get the RTT out of the way regardless to get into the box. Maybe making a lightweight hinged frame for it to sit on that sits just over the lids when closed, and then when the lids are open the RTT keeps your belongings covered and dry.

Possibly a hinge on the front that opened with the lid. Would make a heck of a sale in windy conditions.
Possibly two outrigger bars off the fenders and attached just under the lid. Then slide the tent to the side. They are not that heavy but binding could be a problem.

Contact MotorDrive, he had a similar problem, his raises way up and he actually likes it up high when set up.

Possilby with electric camper jacks. Just thoughts.

Good Looking trailer. One thing I would have asked was if it could have said Toyota instead of Jeep on the side, or at least painted tub color instead of highlighting with black. I look forward to seeing how you adapt a mount for the RTT.

All the talk back and forth on this forum about tongue strength.... here it is so simple yet very strong. Triangulation at it's best.

    Default Sorry for slow progress

I’ve been out of town for work… I will be for another few weeks, then it’s going to be FAST moving. First purchase will be the RTT. Money is always an issue.

I think I’m going with a hinge system to lean the tent over while closed, open the doors and then lean it back over.

Leaning towards the Tepui Kukenam ($825)

Power is going to come from Goal Zero Extreme 350 Kit (found it significantly cheaper). I really like this stuff because of the simplicity of the setup and versatility of use other than just on the trailer. I had initial planned to build a 12v system, but I think I’ve talked myself out of it.

Hot water from Eccotemp L5 Portable Tankless Water Heater and Outdoor Shower

I’ll need a small pump for this.

The build will evolve based on feedback from folks on Expedition Portal and how things fit/work.

    Need to get:

    1. Small propane tank to hook up to my camp chef stove
    2. Looking for creative options to carry 10-20 Gallons of water

At the moment I’m doing tons of research, in a few weeks I should start making some serious progress. I appreciate any advice you guys can provide.

Bought the trailer used, plan on modifying color and taking the damn JEEP logo off!

Cool trailer, color matched is a plus, Matching wheels on the list too?
I like the list of extras you chose.
    Keep us posted.
