Had I known a little more about bikes when I bought mine, I may very well have leaned toward the KLX250S over the XT250. Don't get me wrong, my XT250 is a cool, simple, easy to ride bike, but the KLX has it beat in a few places.

The XTW looks like a two wheeled tonka truck!

I definitely agree that a 'small' adventure bike is a nice way to go and still like my old NX250 - definitely ahead of it's time.

    Default Bike

That would be cool if it got the 450 engine

I like really like the bashplate / shovel idea........was trying to work out what the T-handle was for clipped on above the muffler but must be it. Not that I have ever really wanted a full size shovel before on a bike but hey, it's still neat.

And yeah, I reckon a 450 would be a perfect size for something set up to carry the type of loads you'd expect without working too hard.

I like it. Have wished for a slightly larger TW for years - was hoping for a 350 - like the old XT350/ BW350 engine. We might just get it here. The TW has been in the lineup since 1987 - so it sells well enough to keep around. The adventure bike market is the one segment that is growing rather than receeding (why we now have the Super Ténéré and why triumph has gone into that segment harder). Add the two together - and who knows.

Here's a video, in Japanese with subtitles, that shows a few of the XTW250's features. The bike shown is definitely a concept vehicle, so the production model will lack many of the fancy items to keep the cost under control.

They need to pay more attention to detail, there's a bottom yoke bolt missing (1:04 > 1:06 on the 1st video). happy0123.gif

if the yoke is the piece that goes across the forks holding the horn on the right side......they are both there the position of the bolt head makes a weird shadow that gives the impression its missing....
