    congrats on your build,trip.its nice to see someone living out their dream.
    lots of great ideas for a hi-lux build of mine.
    lots of diesel and water helps keep you bulletproof.
    keep it as light as possible.

    Well if you are using them on your way up to Alaska there will be plenty of tree along that route to test em on!

    Dammit... I blew 2nd gear syncro on Camilla....thank god I have a spare 66000 mile tranny sitting around...gotta pu;; the complete rack off to get it in the shop though....Grrrr... oh well...glad it happened here and not on the trail...although its really bad its still driveable... would have still gotten me out of the jungle though...

    wow what a great build and trip thread, i just read the whole thing. Love the new ideas you had also, not just the same old build thread. Nice to see so many custom ideas and see you doing so much of the work yourself. Sucks about the syncro though, definitely nice to have spare parts laying around the shop.

    And Jim's a heck of a nice guy too.. All of em are a great bunch of guys and we had a blast hanging out with them.. I believe Jim and some of the other guys will be there at overland expo 2013... I know I'm going to try and make it...

    Something that has always been in the back of my mind as a potential weakness of my truck is that I haven't installed lockers.. Well I have been researching different brands and for what I want I have narrowed it down to either he Keiser auto full lockers or the ARB air lockers.. I like the operating characteristics of the kaisers and am trying to do a deal as we speak.. They are just breaking into the US market and as such are expensive to ship...they have been around for a long time though and a very good track record in some pretty heavy duty applications..

    Same here. Plan is to have a Kaiser in the rear Salisbury by February.
