For folks plagued by viruses and malware (yes, that means anyone who owns a PC running Microsoft Windows), new hope is on the horizon. Microsoft has made a test version of Windows Defender Offline available for free. The "Offline" part is the ticket. This software can boot your PC without starting Windows. You'll need to copy Defender Offline onto a CD or USB flash drive with 250 MB of free space.
